Best I ever had |
I love my Dewalt, I have this setup and it has not let me down yet. Also being a woman I cannot use anything that is too heavy, it is solid but not over the top as far as weight.
I find that the charger does the trick very quickly I find that if I am using the drill I make sure the other charger is hooked up so I never have to wait, but on the occasion that I had to, which has happened, it only took 1/2 hour to 1 hour to fully charge.
It is really very strong and will crack any screw that may be stuck, although it may take some time to do it. I have made some projects aht take a long time and this unit is a power house and the charge lasts a long time. : 2012-05-12 15:41:12

As always a nice value |
Ive always wanted a Dewalt drill and now that I have one Im glad I bought it. Ive owned MANY cordless drills from Craftsman to Black and Decker and most in between. The secret is in the battery. This drill comes with two. Ive fallen for the cheapo Harbor Freight $20 drills but they last about a year. The drill doesn die but the battery does. It simply doesn hold a charge. I can shelf my Dewalt for 6 months and it holds a charge like new. Not that youd want to but the battery quality makes ANY cordless tool. Well balanced and just feels right. To me well worth the $$. : 2012-05-12 15:40:58

5.0 out of 5 stars Dewalt Drill is Great! |
We go through a lot of cordless drills that have lots of battery issues. We wanted to try the lithium-ion battery, and decided to give DeWalt a go. We are extremely satisfied with the power and 3-speed gearboxes. The battery is large and weighs more that other batteries we have used, but it lasts a long time! We can normally use the same battery all day, and the charge time is quick. We still keep a spare around the jobsite, but rarely need to use it.
This is a powerful 18 volt drill, plus it has 2-year battery warranty. : 2012-05-12 15:40:43

Love the drill |
I had an older 18V DeWalt corless drill that I bought 10 years ago and its been a great drill. However, the two batteries will no longer hold a charge and at Christmas time, its almost cheaper to buy a whole new drill set than to buy two hard-to-find batteries, so thats what I did. Ive already used this new drill at least 10 times in the last week as I put together Christmas presents and performed other projects around the house and its been great. Its smaller than my other drill, but has a lot of power. The other benefit is that the batteries charge very quickly. I would definitely recommend this drill. : 2012-05-12 15:40:26

What a nice addition to my toolset! |
Power and easy handling. For a cordless drill I don think I have had more power and bite. Comes with a back up battery as well. You will be very satisfied with this one! : 2012-05-12 15:40:11

Cordless Drill/Driver |
Ive used this Dewalt cordless drill on a couple of work projects and find it to be an outstanding product. It has outstanding torque and is easy to use for the novice. Well worth the money paid. Great product. : 2012-05-12 15:39:59

Love it! |
Ive had this drill for about 8 months now, and I absolutely love it! The drill has never let me down, and the batteries seem to last forever until the next charge! : 2012-05-12 15:39:47

When Im looking for DeWalt tools, its always great to find them on Amazon.com. We use a lot of DeWalt tools here, it seems like I am buying a tool all the time. This came in soon and was put to work immediately! Works great! : 2012-05-12 15:39:34

DeWalt 18 volt ,cordless drill set |
I will not buy any other type cordless drills -only DeWalts. Ive had several other brands and the batteries will not hold or take a charge after a few months. I have an 18 volt De Walt that Ive had for years and it is still going strong. Decided to get a second one. : 2012-05-12 15:39:20

Nice drill, great price |
For years I used a Dewalt 12 volt and I beat the snot out of it. Finally the batteries are not holding a charge as long so I starting looking for a new drill and found this 18v. Yeah its not the new lithium technology but after getting over 10 years out of my old ni-cad model I decided to give this one a try too. Ni-cad is time tested as far as Im concerned. Besides for $119.00 how can you go wrong. Its a Dewalt! The new 18v wasn a disappointment either this ended up being a very nice drill with plenty of power. Buy this drill you won be disappointed. : 2012-05-12 15:38:50

More than enough |
Plenty of power, recharges quick, batteries seem to have good life between charges. Its a Dewalt, like alot of my other Dewalt tools it seems to be well built and I expect it to last. This drill has a lot of power to drive in 3 screws into doube 2x4s without predrillng. I lke it! : 2012-05-12 15:38:27

DEWALT |
ALWAYS BUY THE DEWALT WOULD RECOMMEND IT. PLENTY OF POWER, RECHARGES FAST. WISH THE BATTERIES WOULD LAST LONGER, BUT ALL BRANDS AND SIZES SEEM TO BITE THE DUST AFTER 2 YEARS; OVER ALL A GREAT DRILL/DRIVER : 2012-05-12 15:37:59

Great Price @ $99.00 |
This replaces my 14.4V Dewalt which after 8 yrs was still running strong except for the two factory Ni-Cad batteries which finally would not hold a charge any longer. The cheapest after-market 14.4 batteries ran $40 apiece and the Dewalts were about $60 apiece so getting a more powerful new 18V drill with two factory batteries at $99 was a no-brainer. These new 18V batteries should last 8 yrs as well and by then I expect Ni-Cads will be pretty much obsolete and the litium ion drills will have come down in price when time comes for replacement. I always look for a great price, warranty and fast free shipping from Amazon.com when compared to other sellers on amazon which sometimes can be a bit of a hassle on returns. : 2012-05-12 15:37:40

No more lithium-ion for me |
I purchased this item for only $99 at HD. This unit includes 2 Ni-cad batteries. Why get these instead of the newer Lithium-ion? Research on the web shows that Lithium-ion batteries have a shelf life between 2-3 years. So, unlike Ni-cads, EVEN IF YOU DONT USE THEM, they will degrade and need replacing in a couple of years. How long have they been sitting on the shelf before you buy them is anyones guess but that is part of the batterys shelf life. Then when you do go buy new ones they cost as much as the kit did to begin with.
Perhaps if you are a professional that uses the drill all day, day after day you will be ready for a new kit every couple of years. But for the average Joe who might not use the drill for 3-4 months, you are losing battery life regardless.
Do your wallet a favor and stick with Ni-cads until the technology improves. This is an excellent drill with plenty of power. Also, Ni-cads continue to work in cold weather unlike Lithium-ions that won .
Just my 2c. : 2012-05-12 15:37:26

Awesome! |
This is the drill I was looking for so long. I had gone t HD to buy a dewalt drill and they were too expensive. Now I found this drill for $120.00 at Amazon, I already put it to use. I built a shelf 9x7 4 levels made out of wood. Solid shelf. One battery lasted almost for the entire job. But this drill comes with two; so while you use one, have the other one charging.
I recommend it! : 2012-05-12 15:37:11

Cant go wrong with a dewalt |
There is a reason why I only buy dewalt. They practically gave this drill set away. A must have for any household. great for standard projects. Bump up to the impact models if your gonna build a barn. : 2012-05-12 15:36:58

Strong drill, long-lasting |
Great drill that really accomplishes anything I throw at it. Ive been able to easily screw in 3 construction screws into dry fir. Great for flooring applications and really nice slow speed to make sure you
e starting steady.
The two batteries that come with this kit are great. Ive been able to go a full day without swapping. The only time I need to swap more often is if Im using a 1 wood drill bit going through very dry fir beams/joists. Ive been able to use an 18 long 1 wood drill bit without so much as a slowdown. Very impressive for a drill this size. Its my general use drill that I use for pretty much anything. : 2012-05-12 15:36:43
